Conference Lodging Options

We will be offering conference lodging at the dorms at Western Washington University, as well as a group rate at a local Bellingham hotel. Although families aren’t able to stay in the dorms, Bellingham offers a variety of VRBO and AirBnB options that are great for families! Be sure to book early as summer travel is popular in Bellingham.

CONFERENCE HOTEL

We have secured a block of rooms at a group discounted rate at the Four Points by Sheraton Bellingham Hotel & Conference Center for $179 USD per night. Use the booking link below to reserve your room at the NMEA group rate.

The hotel also offers a government rate (federal or state), but you will not be able to get that rate until you check in. If you are eligible for the government rate, you will have to reserve your rooms at the conference rate and once your government ID is approved at check in, you will then be charged the lower rate. For more information on government rates, visit this website.

The hotel is approximately 2 miles away from the conference venue at WWU, which can be reached via a 30-minute walk, a 20-minute ride on the city bus for $1, or a short Uber ride.

Dormitories

We are pleased to offer several dormitory housing options at WWU for the conference. Dormitory space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis until full. We have a block of rooms reserved at the Edens-Higginson Community on North Campus close to the conference location. If this fills up, subsequent rooms may not be at the same location, so book early to ensure your room! (All prices below are per night and include taxes and fees.)

Roommates

WWU will not split payments or pair roommates for multiple occupancy rooms. For multiple occupancy rooms, please designate one person as the point of contact for payments. If you are interested in finding a roommate to share the cost of housing, please submit this form to be put in contact with others who are interested. Names of all roommates must be supplied to housing prior to June 21, 2023. If you are unable to find a roommate by the deadline, you can email WWU Conference Services at conferences@wwu.edu to change your room to a single.

Due to WWU limitations, all dorm reservations must be made by June 21, 2023. Anyone needing to reserve lodging after this date will need to book at the conference hotel or look for other local lodging options around Bellingham.

Please note: Reservations can not be modified or canceled within 30 days prior to arrival, so there will be NO REFUNDS OR CHANGES allowed after June 21, 2023.

WWU will be handling all dormitory reservations for the conference. Please contact WWU Conference Services at conferences@wwu.edu if you have any questions about dormitory bookings.

Camping

Set on the seaward side of Chuckanut Mountain near Bellingham, Larrabee State Park is known for its postcard views of Samish Bay and the San Juan Islands. It is also Washington's first state park. Set up your tent, camper, trailer, or motorhome in one of their many campsites that are just a 15-minute drive to WWU. Campsites will go fast, so book early!
