Featuring Keynote Speakers aboard the E/V Nautilus, PLUS: lab tours, panel discussions, workshops, student poster presentations, and more!

The 2023 NMEA Student Conference will be on Tuesday, July 25th, 8:30 am- 5:30 pm PT. This year's conference is being offered in person at Western Washington University, WA. This is a daytime conference and no housing is provided.

Schedule

8:30 am Registration/Check-In and Welcome
9:00 - 10:00 am Keynote Speaker—Livestream from the E/V Nautilus
10:00 - 10:30 am BREAK and networking time
10:30 am - 12:00 pm Participate in conference presentations as a presenter OR attendee
12:25 - 1:30 pm Lunch and poster sessions - Including posters from both students and full conference attendees!
1:45 - 3:45 pm Hands-on activities for student conference attendees including lab tours, a touch tank, and a plankton art activity
3:45 - 4:00 pm BREAK
4:00 - 5:00 pm Career Panel
5:00 - 5:30 pm Reflection and Closing

Student conference registration is $25 (plus $25 for NMEA student membership). Limited Student Scholarships are still available! Even though the deadline has passed, please submit an application and will try to accommodate your request.

What does a poster generally look like?

Posters come in a wide variety of formats, and we welcome all forms! Here are a few templates to get you started, and examples of posters. If you have any questions or would like someone to review your poster, please don’t hesitate to email Anita!

Ocean Networks Canada will be hosting the IPMEN 2023 conference at the University of Victoria on Vancouver Island BC, Canada, from Tuesday July 18 to Thursday July 20. More information can be found on the IPMEN website.
